WRITING IN ENEM: BETWEEN THE MATRIX, THE TEXT PROPOSAL AND THE PRODUCTION

ABSTRACT

Enem has been a constant subject of debate and it is often in the pages of the main newspapers and magazines even though the ministers of education have not established clear guidelines for it. It is not without reluctance that Enem has begun to get in the Portuguese textbooks. This study, developed within the Research Project "Languagesand identities in Portuguese language teaching materials", aims to show that the "Matrix Reference" is a central document in the guidelines of the text proposals of National Exam of High School (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio – ENEM). In this publication of evaluation organized by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira - INEP), an organization linked to the Ministry of Education (MEC) to assess the performance of the students who are completing high school, the concepts of "text", "language, "discourse" guide the production of the candidate´s argumentative-dissertative text. This evaluation ends up by outlining the profile of the future young of higher education institutions and the performance of the student that ends the basic education in the writing assessment. Given the national scope of this exam, it is necessary to analyze how the required linguistic-discoursive concepts are materialized in the candidates’ compositions. The corpus of the analysis consists of the Enem’s text proposal of 2010 and of a composition considered by the evaluators as excellent. Basing on the Bakhtinian concepts recovered in the High School Curriculum Guidelines (Orientações Curriculares do Ensino Médio), 2006, we pointed out how the quotes and recoveries of voices contribute to the organization of the candidate’s text and also for the participant to take on a critical position. The methodology of analysis is to describe the uniqueness of the three objects ("Matrix reference", “Text Proposal” and “Student’s Production") by checking the linguistic-discoursive relations that exist between them and to show how they are articulated to set up an evaluative proposal to assess texts with authorship.

KEYWORDS: ENEM´s composition, dissertative text, matrix reference, authorship.
